The Bison King is back

Description
Brown is just not there yet. It was worth the gamble, but didn't pay out (yet).
The Bison King could be a fantastic 3rd liner. He hits, he blocks shots, he wins pucks. The Oilers don't need him to score, they need him to be an middle six RW.
Nick Ritchie brings additional grit. I like him better than Erne.

Ritchie is definitely worth the risk at league minimum, seems like he's good for 25ish points.

As much as I like Brown, I agree with you that he’s just not there yet. The gamble was worth it considering that he was only getting paid 775K and 3.25M in potential bonuses but it hasn’t really paid out. He has a -5 in the +/- and hasn’t even recorded a point yet even though he’s averaging almost 16:00 minutes a night. Maybe I’m one of the lonely ones here but I sort of expected this to happen considering that he hadn’t played in an entire year. Some people had high expectations but me, I new that it wasn’t going to work out from the beginning.

Holland should definitely waive Brown, but I highly doubt he will. Lavoie should just be called up before signing Ritchie, but I wouldn’t mind Jesse at league min. Might as well see what he can do with no pressure on him. I wouldn’t expect anything more than a bottom 6 winger though.

I was thinking about calling up Lavoie too, but the risk of him coming in and having no impact is too high. If he is called up he needs to make an impact or his time as an Oiler is over, I think. I can see him on a scoring line with 29 or 97. But he is the wrong guy, if you are looking for defensive prowess on NHL level.
