Description

Tried to keep it as realistic as possible with player signings

23/24 Major Signings:

Nylander: 8x9.25 - His ask is 10 but he really wants to be in Toronto so hopefully he takes a slight discount

Liljegren: 6x4.1 - Basically the Brandon Carlo contract, get him longer term at below 5 million

Pesce: 5x6.5 - Hopefully enough for him, top pair with Rielly for foreseeable future

Bertuzzi: 5x5.75 - Top 6 player, hopefully it costs around this on similar term

Hanifin: Doesn’t necessarily have to be Hanifin but they need a solid 2nd pairing guy for the future and it would be a solid fit. Also not sure if the money would work for the 24/25 season so maybe a cheaper option would work better cap wise

24/25:

Marner: 8x11.25 - Identical contract to what Pastrnak got, Marner isn’t worth anymore than this (Pasta better player on same contract)

Tavares: 4x4 - Not sure if people will think he’s worth more than this but the logic here is he gets term on his contract while also taking a discount in the process to keep the team together. If he wants to win a cup (in Toronto) he needs to take something similar to this

Joseph Woll 5x5 - This is banking on him being the #1 goalie of the future and banking on him playing at around the range that he’s playing at right now over this year and next

Jarnkrok on LTIR because he’s traded within the next 2 years and Reaves is buried in the AHL

Also I was just guessing with the amount of cap space so they could potentially have more or less money to work with depending on how much it goes up by

I don't think Woll asks for 5 but I think a 4 by 5, as long as he's very good, seems reasonable

If we look at many rookie goalies 4m = 2 to 3 year deal

No way he goes 4m x 5 years

He will probs sign a bridge than if he continues playing well get paid handsomely
