While sharks have zero issue moving Hoffman, doing it and losing their last retention slot for a cap dump LD when they are already overloaded with LD options would be dumb. That retention slot need to be used to acquire draft capitol!

I did see the note in the trade but it would be a more logical option to trade both pieces for what they are. Sharks would want some picks in return for using that last retention spot and it sure you don’t want to give up much if anything for Hoffman. and Scandella likely is considered a cap dump and would require picks to move him out. This doesn’t really work, especially the way it’s posted.

Sharks are not in a cap crunch so holding onto Hoffman and using that retention slot for another player to max out picks is far more ideal.

i meant scandella moved put to any team, i was just lazy.
I dont see who else the retention spot gets used on aside form labanc rn tbf
do you think hoffman and labanc get moved etc

No I don’t see either being moved. Could see the retention on Granlund or Rutta to get rid of them, otherwise likely options are Duclair or Barabanov to max their return, even though they are already on reasonable cap hits.

And I saw what you meant but my point was Scandella would cost to move, and sharks likely only move players for pieces and not FC. Especially if it’s using their last retention slot.

1) Hoffman is spent.
2) Scandella is a total cap dump
3) sharks aren't using their final retention to take a has-been cap dump veteran and no picks, terrible asset management.
4) if it was a 1-1 swap, not a chance sharks retain.
5) I read the "explanation" and it does nothing to deter from how bad this is, no offense personally.
