Description

Unprotected '24 1st round pick or,
'24 and '25 protected 1st round picks for taking Campbell.
It's a risky move for Edmonton, but they get depth in offence, defence and a goaltender.
Duclair = Finals last year, forward that will score with a good offensive team.
Rutta = Stanley Cup winning 3rd pair RD, perfect for Edmonton
Blackwood = Played out of his mind for this awful Sharks team.

I understand if Oilers fans get mad, but I feel like they will bounce back after a rocky start. They need to get rid of that Campbell contract asap.

Columbus:
Hertl is their future 2nd line C with Fantilli growing. Columbus loses depth pieces and a bad contract in a process.
Adam Boqvist and 1st are the main pieces coming back to Sharks, since we need an RD that has some potential.
Also Sharks trust that they can draft Celebrini with their own 1st round pick and draft bunch of defencemen with their other 1st round picks.

Suggesting that Blackwood has played “out of his mind” is a stretch, but it is hard to even truly judge a goalies performance level while playing behind that team. Nonetheless, I’m sure EDM would be fine with bringing him back if it meant Campbell is moved. However, I’m sure they’d have no interest in Rutta. Why clear cap space just to throw it away at an over the hill bottom pair d man? With Rutta removed, sure, this proposal is in the realm of possibility. IMHO.

I think Columbus declines the deal as presented, even if we fans think that would be foolish. Kuraly and Gudbranson wear letters, and somehow Gudbranson was the best defenseman on the team last night (genuinely, too, not just by default). Young teams like Columbus need veterans like Kuraly and Gudbranson. Roslovic and Peeke, though?

Nobody in the league is taking the Campbell contract. Any Campbell trade starts at two firsts minimum before adding anything going back the other way. Edit* My bad I saw the description with the first being unprotected but I still think thats way too light - what would be a mid first is still not enough to dump Campbell

His numbers and what I’ve seen from him suggest otherwise, but again, it’s hard to fault him or get a real gauge on him while playing on that team.

If you dont watch him and only look at stats sure (the sharks just conceded 20 goals in two games). He hasn't let in anything soft. He hasn't let in anything he shouldn't have essentially and has had the team in front of him quit to the point where there are essentially free screens or other team just passes around him. If you dont watch the sharks I dont blame you but dont slander the only good thing to come from this season so far for us. I think around the league everyone has been pretty universal in the Blackwood is back to best statements

I’m stating simple facts, and doing so objectively. I’ve witnessed him let in horrendous goals and numbers don’t tell the full story, but they tell a damn good portion of it. For the third time, I don’t necessarily fault him while playing on such a bad team. I have no care in the world to go out of my way to “slander” any player, let alone Mackenzie Blackwood?
