This trade happened at the TDL last year when Klinberg was already a -29. I think for just a 2nd round pick with a 3rd and 5th going the other way it is do able and with it only being a 1 year contract its not a big sacrifice for a basement team.

(And as I said in the Leaf's version of this, it does not have to be PHI just a team that has a second and is willing to move it and currently Philly has two seconds and the one i chose was CLB's not there own)

Are you implying CGY would part with Big-Z for Abruzzese and McMann, while you burn a 2nd to dump Klingberg!?

I am saying leaf's trade Klinberg and a sweetener, either pick or prospect to someone who is willing to give them a 2nd round pick. Then leaf's trade McCann/Abruzzese and the acquired 2nd for Big Z

I would have done the Trade with TOR and then shipped Klingberg to PHI for the 2nd, but since Klingber would cost a 2nd+ to move and would never bring a 2nd or likely agree to be moved to PHI, it doesn’t matter. Would have been easier to understand is all

Thats fair and I did it that way on my other one the Zadorov original Toronto side. I just hope Tre can get something done cause if Big Z does want out I would love to have him in Toronto.

On 2nd thought that 2nd does belong to CLB so it should be an early one, so it’s not as bad as just a random mid-to-late 2nd. Sorry for being so ignorant of that originally

Yeah if you can figure out Klingberg, you do have the premise for a deal there. Might try to squeeze something extra, but that’s definitely not as bad as originally or secondly thought.

Oh ya I chose the CLB pick on purpose as it would be the higher pick. Obviously PHI would likely rather their pick go then the CLB for the same reason but this trade is to benefit Toronto and Calgary screw PHILLY (sorry Philly fans).
