Direction: Contending. Tarasenko coming back seems inevitable. He looked good in NY and makes tons of sense to return with the Rangers newfound cap space. Defense stays the same, Garand poised to become the full-time backup imo. Not much else to say I dont see how they could change much here

Sucks to cut ties with Kakko, I thought he was really gonna breakout this season. But its obvious there is no spot for him and the team cant keep waiting. Laf has started to show what he could become so the team picks him

Pass on Hoffman. And I much rather give Othmann that spot over Tarasenko.

Pass on Tarasenko Hoffman Lemieux or trading Kakko for picks we hope turn into Kakko for the same reasons we didn't simply give away Chytil Laf & Schneider.

I know Kakko has not been good this year but trading him for picks actively makes the team worse

when did anyone says NYR should give away any of those guys lol?

This isnt just picks its a top 35 and 70 pick. NYR could get a Cristall, Poitras, etc with that pick, or flip it. And more importantly it opens up cap

It doesnt. Opens projected 4-5 mil in cap and the picks are top 35 and 70

All the time, for the past 3 years, like you are doing here !! All busts lol.

Sure we might sell him eventually, but we'd be getting a good young player not futures. Just to go ufa shopping, pass.

Don't listen to people saying "No Tarasenko" he was a perfect fit on this team and as long as we don't give him a 7 year contract we'll be lucky to have him back. However Kakko is fine as a cheap third liner if nothing else. If an offer is brought to Drury's desk for some type of first rounder or high end prospect then he can be traded, but not for a 2nd and 3rd
