I like this...though I feel EDM will want Benson over Savoie. But closest to a fair McDavid trade Ive seen as it is

Not enough. UPL and the 2nd aren't bringing anything to the table here. Upgrade the pick accordingly, replace UPL with your choice of Kulich or Benson, and the Oilers can take Olofsson and whatever else back to keep the cap even. No sense in waiting for the draft or anything.

It's optically terrible if Edmonton has to trade McDavid and not get six first-round equivalents in the return. You've got 5 here if I'm being generous and merge the second with UPL and move the goalposts with Samuelsson.

I'd be so much more willing to jump the shark and add Bouchard if it meant Edmonton could get 7 first-round equivalents. Having to take back Olofsson and Johnson to make the money work is no thing at that point. Moving McDavid for anything short of an overpay can't happen. The Oilers would be better off letting him walk so long as they tried to be competitive over the last three years we'll get with him.

Buffalo is the only team that can afford McDavid without destroying their future.
