Until he signs, it’s a risk and his old linemate / friend are in Boston. They also are in a cap position to sign him if Toronto f’s it up. I assume he signs in Toronto, but I can see a scenario where he prices himself out of Toronto and the a maple leafs use the money to sign a few players to improve their roster composition

Cap is only going up to 87.7 88 max so can you guys honestly afford him?

It will require decisions just like any team that acquires an $11M+ player. There is a path to do it. Will they want to or grow their top 6 depth instead. My guess is it would be a decision between Bertuzzi / Debrusk / vet goaltender vs Nylander / McLaughlin / Bussi

I seriously doubt there would be an interest in the Edmonton deal mentioned here.
