Tanev 3 years x 2M? That'd make sense, no? At the very least you get a 3rd pairing D who can PK. Almost like Gio has been.

Do you not feel comfortable with him playing 20minutes in a given night? I don't see many third pairing defencemen I'd rather have than Gio. His intangibles alone are worth having him on the roster. 2M doesn't seem like a lot for that. His contract was always a discount - and it still is even in the final year.

No. Very much no. Gio should be playing sheltered minutes as a 6D or be the 7D
