I like it, but as many people have already said, any deal involving JVR will need to be with an extension in place and does JVR really want to be in CAR long term. Also, does Carolina really want to sign him long term with all the huge extensions they will be needing to sign in the next 2-3 years with Aho, Lindholm, Teuvo, and like 4 of their D.

Also, I really want to see Kapanen get a chance on Matthew's wing.

Jacks, think your RFA signings are right on and I do like this trade but think that the 1st should revert to a 3rd if JVR does resign! I actually think that Carolina would be a great fit for JVR! You do need to finish off the roster!

I really want to see Kapanen with Kadri and Soshnikov.. Fast and hard nosed line..

I think JVR trade makes sense as he can go play with his brother, and the pick reverts downward based on if he resigns or not.. Only time will tell.

Agree, pick depends on if he re-signs or not.
