Two players with trade clauses aren't waiving. Can you name them?

Easy no from Oilers. Leon’s untouchable.

I sure Leon would welcome the trade....but Rangers Zibs a definite no, and more than likely Sheskerin.

Dude grew up idolizing Gretzky and the Oilers. Should watch his interview at the draft and See how excited he and his dad were. And he’s best friends with McDavid, who just happens to be his best line mate. Yeh I don’t think Drai clamouring to get out.

Oh, I don't think he's clamouring but geez the Rangers are a first place team. That type of change doesn't seem "bad" for Leon.
Just my opinion. With the lack of success Leon and Connor have had with the Oilers,,,,in their prime, I don't see them resigning with the Oilers.

Rangers don’t really have a strong history of winning Cups though, actually one of the weakest franchises in that regard save for the Leaf’s. If Drai wants to win, he wouldn’t be picking the Rags of all teams.

Rags are about the same level as the Oilers are now. Oilers had a slump to start the season which skews a purely standings based comparison, but comparing the teams I’d say most people would say they are comparable cup contenders. Most all analysts and sports book had the Oilers as higher cup favorites than the Rangers entering this season. So if it’s about Cup chances, Drai stays wheres he comfortable and with the best player in the game in McDavid.

If you're going by ancient history, the Leafs have won many Cup, I believe the second most in NHL history. Oilers yes they had that nice run in 80s...five Cups. But I'm sure Leon isn't concerned about the Oilers of 80s or the past 33 years when the Oilers haven't won a Cup. You might be right, he might stay with the Oilers, but UFAs come and go. Why does McDavid stay? I'm sure he can be "comfy" in other NHL cities too. Again it was just my opinion. There isn't really a "hockey" reason for Leon to resign when he might have another 10 just as good/better options. But that's true with a lot of UFAs, I'm not picking on the Oilers.

Yeh they could squeeze out some cups in a 6 team league cherry picking all the best prospects in Canada whilst American teams didn’t have nearly the same resources.

Leon wants to win, he doesn’t need to look at the 80s, he could just look at the team he’s on which is one of the top Cup favorites in the League as constructed. I mean there’s plenty of reasons McDavid would stay. He’d be given a blank cheque number one, not all teams can offer that. His career in edmonton has been going just fine, hes a hall of fame lock already, he’s been made the highest paid player in the league, he’s won more hardware than some entire teams histories, and he’s on a team that will literally let him decide whatever moves he wants. Everything revolves around him in Edmonton and he’s seen like a god in a city that as passionate about hockey as he is. I mean sure, he could go the “grass is greener” route and go to a team like Toronto who literally never wins and where they will drag his name through the mud at the first sign of a slump, or he could also decide to stay with his best friends, on a team he built from the ground up that can give him a better chance to win than most teams in this league can offer.

You really think the Oilers are true Cup contenders? Yes, the Oilers might have a better chance to win the Cup with most team (16 other teams).....But no way the Oilers are a be top 10 team.

Might want to tell every NHL analyst and every Vegas Sports Book that information. You must know more than them. Obviously you watch all the Oilers games to form this opinion right?

You're funny. The Oilers are 10th in the Western Conference. Does any reasonable person think the Oilers are top ten favourites Cup favourites?
For you info, a sport books are based on money bet. Leafs and even the Blue Jays are lower odds to win because of Toronto/Canadian money being bet on their favourite teams.

Going into this season they were the concensus Cup favorite by the Media analysts and Begas Sports Books. If you don’t think that means anything now cause they had a bad streak to start the season, then you are just being wilfully ignorant.

So, the script is ...."Going into the season". Kinda meaningless now, or in the second week of April.

Kinda not meaningless. Cause the reasons they were chosen as the Cup favorites are still on this team and the team is playing right now like everyone thought they would to start the year.

Looking at the standings and trying to determine team quality makes little sense. It’s a small sample size as we’re barely a quarter of way through the season. Smarter hockey people like the analysts and the Oddsmakers look at larger sample sizes to have an informed opinion. They’d look at the fact that for 2 years straight the Oilers have been a top team.
