Just to dump Comrie and get rid of the goaltending circus. They'll have a lot of healthy forwards and I wanted to see a different approach. Sturm is good in the dot, Cozens maybe picks up something from him and hopefully from the wing he can bury a couple and get the monkey off his back. 4th line is a misfits line more than a checking line now. Top 2 are self explanatory

With EVERYONE healthy, I’d do something like:

Skinner-Tage-Olofsson
-this line has worked before, & hopefully Olofsson gets hot enough to trade at the deadline for something decent

Peterka-Cozens-Quinn
-worked last year quite well, put the band back together

Benson-Mittelstadt-Tuch
-if they click, this 3rd line could be a real problem for teams- especially if the above 2 lines are working

That currently would leave Krebs centering a rotation of guys on the wing:
Okposo, Girgs, Greenway, Robinson, & Jost
And if Sturm is acquired, he’d fit perfectly as the Center on this line, freeing up Krebs to move up the lineup & start playing a bit of offense

Idk…. Makes sense to me anyways

Wasn't Mitts centering Benson and Greenway a pretty good line earlier in the season?

I don’t really remember…. Possibly
I do think Skinner & Tage can play with just about anyone though, so if Greenway *has* to be in the top9, i think that’s a line we can stick him on that he won’t drag down
***I’m not really a Greenway fan though, so I’m coming at this a bit biased

As for the “3rd line”
I think Benson-Mitts-Tuch could be amazing

And if you’ve paid attn to anything I’ve said over the years,
finding that 3rd line that can consistently score is important
We haven’t really had that since the Briere/Drury days,
when line3 was Vanek-Roy-Afinogenov for the ‘05-‘06 season
Teams didn’t have enough depth to defend that line- and if they put focus on them- then the Hecht-Briere-Pominville line burned them (Drury line was pretty much always matched up against the other team’s top line)

Anyways….. that’s how the Sabres start to really “win” again imo
We have all kinds of forward talent- let that dictate the play on the ice

Points taken. When all are healthy, the addition of Benson to the top-9 makes for a pretty formidable group up top. And with the way the Krebs/Robinson/Okposo line has been playing, those 12 forwards should be hard to handle for any team.

Yep
Patience pays off, Lol
Getting Quinn back is huge too
I’m looking forward to the Peterka-Cozens-Quinn line getting reunited. That line was fun to watch for most of the season last year
That line has been missed this year imo
Big reason we have had troubles scoring consistently

Just a quick note, that line of Mitts with Benson and Greenway was together early in the year and they did very well before injuries forced line juggling. Gonna be a helluva top-9 when the Sabres finally get healthy (and hopefully stay that way) and I'm pretty pumped to see how far that forward group can help take this team.

Agreed
I’ve consistently been telling our fellows fans to chill out & be patient
I get why no one wants to be, but we can’t press the fast forward button on this & speed up time

We have so much talent
Imo, all we need is a tweak or 2 & some time
The second half of the season should be pretty fun
