I belive the hiring of Jacques Martin can lead to two scenario :

The 1st scenario is that they hired him for a processus to choose the next HC for the Sens, and the coach that he will gonna fit the best for the team.

The 2nd scenario (that's I don't hope that) is that they hired him for teaching Smith about making somes adjustments/changes on his coaching style.

Ottawa needs a legitimate head coach. Look down the list of former head coaches and with exception for a couple years of Boucher the last true NHL experienced bench boss was Bryan Murray. It’s getting a bit tiresome watching them get stomped every other night.
