If he signs in Ottawa why not Edmonton?

He'd only play there for a quarter of the year (since this happens at the TDL) and would have a chance at winning. If he didn't sign in Ottawa I'd understand your argument but I could totally see him going to Edmonton now since he signed in ottawa

I just don't think he would move his family across the continent for a ~3 month stint where he likely won't re-sign in the summer. I'm obviously biased as a Rangers fan but I think he's coming back, Ottawa to NYC is a much shorter trip than Ottawa to Edmonton

I'd heavily assume NYR is higher on his list

He wouldn't have to fully move his family I don't think and could sign back in NYR over the summer for cheap (1.75-2 million probably) to end his career off while playing 2-3 months of hockey in Edmonton.

Would he prefer to go to NYR, 100%. But I wouldn't rule out Edmonton either
