Realistic Off-season

Created by: bogdown
Team: 2024-25 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 21, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Give or take on some of the contracts but with Kuzmenko gone this is the team next year, you basically get to keep Blueger and Lafferty for Kuzy.

Depth options may change, most likely move on from Myers, Cole, and Friedman but not bad to bring them back. Bottom line is that there certainly is a path to bringing everyone back by trading 96

I just don’t see Kuzmenko adapting under Tocchet and the Canucks are playing alright without him. I’d hate to see him go at the deadline but it seems to be moving that way. Plus, freeing up almost $6mil in cap space heading into Allvin’s biggest offseason as a GM is super useful.

I wouldn’t trade him just because it’s a trade rumour and he didn’t ask for a trade.
Washington has too many Russian wingers in their roster, so there’s no point of bring a guy like Kuzmenko.
I rather have Washington find somebody else besides him.

Doesn’t have to go to Washington, just put a random team there. You trade him in exchange for cap space pretty much. I think that there’s still the opportunity for him to be a well rounded top six player which would be the best outcome for both sides. He clearly didn’t do much to better his game in the summer and that’s showing when guys like Lafferty and Suter are out-skating him for Petey’s wing.

Kuzy is not going anywhere. His agent was interviewed yesterday and said he and the coaches and management are all on the same page and Kuzy is still loving being a Canuck.Where do people come up with these kuzy trades hes going Nowhere.IMHO.

Probably not but the Canucks need to figure this out soon because you can’t have a $5.5mil player riding the pine.
