Why would you want Gudas for 3 yrs?
Hamilton will be back by next year or around playoff time if they make it and he has 5yrs left
Marino still has 4yrs
Nemec is playing well now and will play full time next year for sure.
Hughes, Siegenthaler and Bahl cover the left side now and the forseeable future

If Gudas was a UFA it would make sense, not long term though
Unless the NJD want Nemec playing top4 minutes all year next year and decide to trade Marino but still 4mil for a guy that would be playing on the 3rd pair is a lot even with the cap increase
