Easy pass for Canucks.
Canucks don't need Giroux, and they shouldn't trade their first round 2025 pick.
Why would Canucks need Giroux when they have JT Miller?
This trade makes no sense at all.

Fair enough if value is off - I first had it as a second and then upgraded assuming Ottawa wouldn't be happy with that. I still like Kuzmenko a lot and would hate to lose him, but you have to give to get.

I don't really get what you're saying that we don't need Giroux? Running Pius Suter as your 2nd line center isn't a recipe for success in the playoffs. Giroux could replace Kuzmenko on PP1 and adds playoff experience and some grit. If you move Petterson back to 2C Giroux can play wing with Petey or Miller.

I'm totally fine just letting this year ride and seeing what happens - but I also think Giroux is almost a perfect fit for the Canucks.

I actually think Giroux is a pretty solid fit on line 2. Especially if line 2 is Kuz - Giroux - Mikheyev.

Not sure if Ottawa would part ways though or if Giroux would wave. Seems like he's quite valuable in Ottawa. Limited "good" vets on that team (just my opinion).

Would you still target Giroux if the ask is 1st in 2025 + Truscott or Brzustewicz + Garlund

If I have to knit pick, it would also be nice if we could target a guy that is on his final year. Definitely won't be as talented as Giroux but someone like Henrique or even Lindholm (harder to resign).

I like the 1st, Truscott and Garland. It's very close though - Garland has been sooo good the last couple of months. I'm not sure Garland would be as attractive to Ottawa either.

I wouldn't trade Brz with what he is doing right now.
