Bruins-Realistic based on Cassidy's presser today

Created by: PoorTom

Description
Based on Cassidy's comments today, sounds like a kid with Bergeron/March. He singlesd out Heinan. A kid with Krejci/Pasta. Backes with JFK.

The Spooner trade is based off of a rumor. With Cassidy talking about JFK as the 3rd line C, sounds like Spooner is a goner here.

Where can this be heard from? Did you find a podcast?

I don't mind Backes with JFK as much as I mind him with Spooner, so that's a slight upgrade I think.

This lineup kinda screws over Cehlarik who was good in providence last year.

Not sure why we'd trade for Duclair if he wasn't even good enough to make the NHL.

Pasta should make more for a 7 year deal, atleast 6.5 IMO.

I think I made a mock with Beleskey on the 4th line and I claimed that he could just skate around and get his 2 hits per game to create energy, but I've kinda backed off that a bit. It still makes sense, but if we ever want to get rid of him we need to play him in the top 9. Noones going to trade for a nearly 4 million dollar 4th liner. If we can get him 15 goals and 20 assists, similar to what he got in 2015, we could ship him out for a late pick and make room for Cehlarik.

I give Beleskey the nod over Vatrano in all my mocks now, based on our need to get him going or he's going to weigh us down heavily. If Vatrano gets the spot and scores 15goals and 20 assists it doesn't really help us that much as it makes resigning him more difficult. It's up to Cassidy to decide the better player, but Sweeney could get pressure from Mr. Jacobs to give his bigger investments a bigger role.

It was at developmental camp. He did mention Cehlarik as being injured and not sure where he's at in his recovery. The Spooner trade was just a guess on return. But it definitely sounds like he's gone. Vatrano/Beleskey can go either way. My guess is training camp/pre-season games will determine that.

I've gotten rid of Spooner in a lot of mocks, so I don't mind him being on the way out. Cehlarik injured is a bummer, I wish all the kids the best. Beleskey / Vatrano going either way makes me put Beleskey in the more prominent role because how he does effects our cap more. If we wish to move him, we need to give him some time on the 3rd line and see him put up some points.

I just don't see us going for Duclair if he's fallen so far that he can't make an NHL roster. It could happen but Spooner should have some value, as he's averaged 44 points the last 2 years. That's a really high for a 3rd line type player, so we should get the value of a 2nd round pick or more. Duclair had one good year registering 44 points, but last year he was bad. I think I'd rather get back a RHD prospect who's basically worth a 2nd rounder. Kyle Wood from Ari would get me more interested in making a deal with them than Duclair. I mean, we're stocked up completely on left handed defensemen and wingers. Do we really need one more? Lets get a right shot player as long as its not a C.

They are trying to move Spooner for a LD.

Spooner alone isn't going to get you a LD. His value isn't great right now.

I think Spooner gets us a LD easily. We're talking about a #5-6 LD. Chara = 20+ mins, Krug = 20+ mins, new guy = 20 or less, but atleast 16 probably. We could easily get a 30 year old 18 minute left handed defenseman. Think left handed McQuaid..... I'll make a new thread and find someone that I feel is about right for us.

Hutton may become available if Juolevi makes the team. If we can hold onto Spooner until then, his price may come down substantially.

This is what I've been saying all along. Build from within, use prospects. Forget the blockbuster trades, it won't happen!!
However, I'm not sold JFK can jump right in to 3rdC but Backes can take the spot - he actually plays better at C and you could throw some young kids with him and he will teach.
