Description

Retained enough to make contracts equal, likely the only team in the league Marner waives for, his nmc becomes a 12 team no trade list (Ekblad) can’t see Toronto being on it, as for his contract extension I personally wouldn’t give him more then 10M but it’s not up to me, but the guy doesn’t deserve more then 11M his market value is 9.3M, could likely get him down to 10M with your lower taxes

Also they could potentially let Reinhart walk and sign Montour

Now maybe this is bad value for marner but I have no idea where to go from here so let me know, have been thinking maybe Florida needs to add 2026 1st and leafs add a 2026 3rd to make it more fair but let me know

I don't think the picks really make a difference. It's the calibre of player and injury history. Ekblad albeit a solid D man, doesn't seem worthwhile for a marner type player.....

Does it make more sense to go after a Hanifan or Dobson type player? Likely Islanders don't move dobson, but both would come with cheaper extensions than Marner, and fill a giant hole on the leafs blue line.

Dobson for Marner sounds interesting. But add Wahlstrom on top of that aswell. Also Ekblad is having himself quite a poor season this year. How is he a 9.3m player? For me it is max 8.5m right now. And that is counting in him rebouncing later on
