Description
Lindholm is probably the only guy they should target at the deadline and it'll take a good amount with their poor draft capital. Lysell is their top forward prospect so that'll have to be an automatic add in this trade. Debrusk still has decent top line potential with the right linemates. And with his bad start to the year he won't be due to break the bank for his extension. In 2021 he signed his current deal before the deadline thinking he was going to be traded and took less. Of course that trade didn't happen and it worked well for Boston. Anyways if they can sign him to a say 3-4 year by 4.8 seems fair for him and should be a good building block for Calgary. And then whatever draft capital seems fair a 1st and a 3rd seems fair. Ciona is just a throw in for Calgary

The Swayman contract I matched with Shesterkin, Jarry, Grubauer and those 5-6 million cap hits feels like a fair comparison for his next contract.

Heinen has been great in the role he's been given, absolutely deserves an extension a great 3rd 4th line option with the team.

Matt Roy is a solid defender LA is using a wait and see approach with whether or not to extend him and he fills the top 6 with a decent contract could probably get more.

Forbort has always had critics within Boston fans but he's the defenses best penalty killer and can be a placeholder on a 1 year deal while hopefully they can farm out his 3rd pair role for the future.

Bayreuther is a 7th D like Wotherspoon is good for the AHL and emergency situations
Snivey Z.A.R and Watson are just roster fillers in the AHL

If they are going to target anyone that has been mentioned as trade candidate it should be Joel Eriksson Ek.

Roy gets much better offers.

Not bringing back Forbort,

I like Eriksson Ek had not heard much about rumors with him but I like the fit. Roy was hard to judge how much of a raise he gets but how I spent the cap they could definitely spend more to get him. Forbort to me a solid defender on a one year cheap bridge deal. Not a bridge deal for him but for whatever they see in the 3rd line the next year.

Not bringing back Forbort,

Would be a huge deal if Guerin made Eriksson Ek available I’d argue he’s an even better fit than Lindholm

Seen multiple reports that he is exploring JEE trade. Don’t see it happening, but they are in cap hell due to those big buyouts. 🤷🏻‍♂️
