Really like your proposal. Glad to see you acknowledge someone else's deal and actually appreciate it. Think the Canes could seriously make a run for Marner and I think he would definitely be willing to waive the clause to come to Carolina. I do think McCabe would have to be included in the package otherwise too much for the Canes without returning who I believe could be a killer on the Canes

I have you to thank for the idea! I agree they could definitely make a run at him. Who knows if they'll be willing to follow through this time though. They always surprise us with these off the wall trades and pick ups. It seems to work out each time so far, although at some point they're going to have to make a bigger move to push over the top.

Also I think McCabe is a huge part of why I like the trade. He fits super well as a place holder for the Canes future.
