I would give you galchenyuk in exchange for a package that includes ho sang, and Leddy. If that is to much to send, the montreal canadiens could send back a draft pick.

Of course I'm going to sound biased, but both of those pieces are almost untouchable. Leddy is probably our second best player after Tavares, and Ho-Sang's dynamic play is hard to replace. Albeit unlikely the Habs would deal Galchenyuk after he just signed his extension, I would counter offer Beauvillier, the higher of our 2018 1st's and the lower of our 2018 2nd's (NYI/CGY) in return for Chucky and either McCarron/Scherbak.

If the Isles were going to deal both Barzal and Pulock (reportedly Sakic's ask for Duchene) this is a far better deal by comparison. I might actually take that if offered. Would you swap out Gudbranson for Hutton? Isles throw in Dal Colle and upgrade the lower of the 2 2nds to the higher of our 2 1st's? I like the framework here

Also - would you take back Halak and Kulemin's contracts back in either scenario discussed? Cap space will be an issue for NYI. Both expire at the end of this season

Personally wouldn't mind sending Nielsen back to the island. Not that I don't want/like him it's just that we need to rebuild and he doesn't fit that

At that $5.25M cap hit for the next 5 years you would need to eat at least $1.25M to make it both tolerable and sensible for NYI. Fransy for Shane Prince and the higher of our 2018 2nds?

I'm really not sure if Ho-Sang is touchable. But under your proposal, I'd do him and a 2018 3rd at the max

Oh I'm with you my friend that cap hit is downright awful for a guy who will probably get 15-30-45 in a good season. You know how it is having a wonderful GM, hence why I'd just give you frans back for $1
