Small deadline just adding a bit of depthgrit

Created by: JMB423
Team: 2023-24 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 31, 2024
Published: Jan. 31, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
i think standing pat on what we have and trying to add a little playoff experience and maybe a little bit of grind it out type of playoff players would be the best course.
I personally think Poitras will be benched come playoff time as he looks to be slowing down a bit when he is playing, so i'm sure some line tweaking will be needed, or maybe bring Beecher back up in place of Steen
Trades
1.
BOS
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THE DUCKS, USED AS A PLACEHOLDER.
i know he's taken a bit of grief from BOS fans lately since coming back from a hip issue, but i think he's still a capable D-man, can play left or right side comfortable, and is a good locker room guy
ANA
  1. Grzelcyk, Matt
Additional Details:
I still don't think he's a negative asset. 3rd may be too high, but maybe recoup a 4th? not positive his value. Can even retain a little if Scandella is coming back retained
local kid, liked by teammates and has been a valuable please, but i think a change is best for all. Can maybe look at re-signing in the off-season pending the deal though
2.
BOS
  1. Blais, Samuel
  2. Scandella, Marco
Additional Details:
idk value/what they'd want, but i think the playoff experience Scandella brings, and the physicality of Blais can help come playoff time for reasonably cheap cost. We'd need to clear cap either way. Does this cost work since unretained?
STL
  1. 2024 4th round pick (BOS)
  2. 2025 6th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Do we add more in terms of picks? maybe a b/c prospect?

Blues would potentially do that if they need to clear space for another trade.

I’m really hopeful that they don’t trade for the sake of trading. While I have no issue with the guys you are trying to acquire, my preference is to kind of stand with what they got

i do feel the same, i'm hopeful we keep the core, but can't make the cap work for Scandella without getting rid of Gryz/Forbort. We can remove him, just thinking that big depth on the blue line could help come playoffs, and a bottom 6 grinder like Blais i feel can help with some others resting down the stretch while giving up little capital
