For that much retention, the picks should be removed entirely.

Monahan + Anderson (50% retained) for Kakko + Goodrow

Anderson and Goodrow are almost the same value. Monhan is probably worth more than Kakko

I honestly dont see why both teams wil do that deal. In my eyes the goodrow-anderson swap is useless for both teams.

Habs save just under 2 million per year for four years (or around 2/3 of a million per year on a two to six year buyout) and Goodrow plays centre or wing, so it gives them a bit more versatility in their lineup.

Anderson gives the Rangers added size and speed for the playoffs.

In Monahan, they get a legitimate 3C for their playoff run, while Montreal adds a promising young player who seems to need a change of scenery.

The issue is i rather have Anderson than Goodrow in my team, and i dont think the rangers want that cap over the years

The rest make sens, but again with that swap it doesnt make much sens

Anderson isn't worth 7.4 million more than Goodrow over the next four years. And I'd have Kakko a bit ahead of Monahan in value.

First reasonable Habs trade I’ve ever seen on this website after 6 years.
