Flyers Trade Deadline

Team: 2023-24 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 9, 2024
Published: Feb. 9, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I hope the Flyers use the cap space they have available to eat some contracts for picks and prospects from other teams. They need to be part of a lot of 3 way trades to help with working on the future.

I do see another world where the Flyers will eat contract but not do anything with the team and let the guys go on a run. However, Danny has been very admit that even with a team going on a run they still want to sell to keep building for the future. This year is an anomaly.

What would you add on the Leafs side to make the money work?

I’m not saying it’s impossible to get a first for walker but don’t see it coming from Edmonton. They currently have 3 right shots that would play ahead of him.

So you get rid of the 6th and Sammy and then add Robo?

Would you move Cody Ceci and drop it to a 2nd?

Would you accept an additional 6th for Martin Jones? That would make the money work.

I'm happy with the Walker deal, I don't really see the need for the Aho deal but it's a 7th so whatever. That Leafs trade is bad for Philly, where is the 1st round value for Laughts? The best piece in the deal is an undersized 3rd pair defensive prospect.

Yeah sure but it’s not necessary for the money but sure if you want a goalie

I’ve already told him he needs to drop Sammy and the 6th and needs to add robo for you guys to even consider, I’m not sure Laughton is getting a first honestly

Then Philly probably keeps him. He is under contract and we don't have to move him, just like Risto they aren't pulling the trigger unless someone pays the price they want.

Personally I think the talk around that swap is playing with fire not something I find beneficial. I wouldn’t do it but I’m sure others would.

I love that about Danny. He realizes with the position we are in either pay us exactly what we want or pound sand.
