I see a team thats even worse than this yr.

Bellows (and McMann) suddenly become good/everyday NHLers?

Toffoli and Holmberg better than Bertuzzi and Domi?

Knies, Robertson, Holmberg and Minten are all ready to contribute in key roles on a contender?

Treliving was convinced they needed offense from the blueline enough to sign Klingberg, but now he goes all in on offensively challenged defense with Benoit, Grzelchuk and Roy (Just one defenseman who can score 25 pts or more?)?

You've kind of started a youth movement and stayed old at the same time? You've put a ton of faith in both older guys and younger guys while not subtracting anything for success this year?

Don't disagree with you. This roster is really mean to stabilize the d-core, which is something (in my opinion) that we severely need. Unfortunately our UFA signings that were supposed to be the most impactful (i.e. Domi, Bertuzzi) just haven't worked out. I don't hate the idea of bringing Domi back, but don't see it working from a cap standpoint if we are going to upgrade the blueline. Basically this strategy focuses on significantly upgrading the D at the cost of adding secondary scoring. Even if we didn't spend as much on the blueline, there really aren't many top 6 forwards out there that would make sense for us to add (beyond a guy like Guentzel that we can't afford). This is just the reality of our cap situation and roster makeup. In a perfect world we upgrade the blue line AND add secondary scoring, but I just don't view that as realistic.
