he might get 8+ from like the blackhawks but considering he wants around 5 years of term I think he gets around 7 mil on the market and with tampas tax advantages that would be around 6mil so still a bit low but not insane. The pavelski deal would be insane though

Because he has stated 2 things consistently
A) He wants to spend his entire career in TB.
B) He wants to play 20 years.
He's made a boatload of money so, comfort and surroundings may be more important to him than a few bucks. He could have gotten a lot more on the open market last time so, him taking less than perceived market value is not unheard-of
