The above ACGM was detailing selling for the penguins at the 2024 TDL.

Dubas today said that he/the org owes it to the core to surround them with pieces, and it's pretty obvious the goal will be to retool in the summer and see what happens next season.

I think that Smith will get moved at the TDL in 2024, and I think Dubas attempts to move Rakell in the summer. Rakell has had a not great year, but a new system would serve him well. Still skates very well and has an extremely good IQ, he was snake bitten to start the year.

I'm not sure what teams make sense to look at a Rakell trade, or what they cost is. The Penguins definitely get something back for him, he was snake bitten to start the season and the team has just crashed since. A fringe playoff team this year with younger players + high IQ makes most sense.

****For the teams I made trades with....****

I'm really not sure of my values, so by all means let me know, and for all I know CAR and CGY may not be willing to sell those players.

Seems wildly obvious now with the Stone and Eichel news.

Cap going up plus Martinez coming off the books in the summer lets Smith easily slide back in.

Dallas fans, let me know if this makes sense. I'm trying to figure out who needs Center depth.

2nd is for Eller and 5th is to take Faksa off the books.

Faksa out covers eller for next season and gives you almost an extra $1M

I'm trying to think who is a great fit for Rakell and the wings seem like a good fit. High IQ player, skates well and with Perron and Kane coming off the books + cap going up, he seems like a player that would slot in very well with Compher or Copp.

I understand if he's not a good fit but feel like he needs to go to a team with some younger players that's in or very close to playoffs.

        2. 2024 2nd round pick (PIT)
        Additional Details:
** I'm not sure what Carolina's plan is with Necas, they're obviously not going to trade him in 2024 season, but do they have the cap to resign him with others like Drury and Jarvis up, Skjei, Pesce and Chatfield.

Not sure what the price would be for a pre draft/FA trade would look like, I can't imagine they'd get a first because teams may offer sheet instead and roll the dice (could be wrong).

        2nd + good prospect.

Way off on necas. Canes have 31 million in cap. Why wouldn’t they be able to afford him?
Do you honestly believe a 2nd round pick offer sheet would be successful with necas?
Do you believe the canes wouldn’t get at least a first?

I honestly believe you’re way off with rakell, I think you’ll have to pay someone to take him

Hence why I said in my comment "I don't know what the price would be".

I understand they have $31M in cap, but they also have Teravainen, Necas, Martinook, Drury, Jarvis, Skjei, Pesce, Deangelo, Chatfield all up (plus Raanta and Spencer)

that money is going to go quick, and reality is they're probably not going to be able to sign one or two of those guys, which is why I asked what the price would be

I disagree, (i'm not saying they wouldn't try to do that simply to free up space) but he's still a solid player, this has just not been his year. The first 15-20 games he couldn't buy a goal (until his 20th game). The puck was just doing everything but hitting the net (pipes, absurd goalie save). He has 15 pts in his last 21 games, so he's gotten back closer to his form.

We aren’t likely the UFAs except Martinook. None of those players will take precedence over Necas, Jarvis being close
