Panther fans, just curious but on Friedman's 32 thoughts tonight he mentioned a reunion for Reilly Smith and FLA.

I know FLA has no cap and I don't believe the penguins retain on Smith unless the offer is too good.

Smith is a useful and versatile middle-six winger, which is what the Panthers need. He could fit in the 3rd line quite nicely. However, his contract runs through the 24-25 season, which is not ideal. There is too much good players we need to sign in the summer to really consider trading for Smith.

If he was a rental, I could see us throwing something like a 3rd rounder for him.
