I would LOVE for Briere to make the same mistakes that have plagued the Flyers org. for many years. Please, think the team is a perennial contender!

they have draft picks to spare and they're going to make the playoffs this year so i don't see the issue

I would love to get Hanifin, but trading young assets to do it isn't the move to make at this point unfortunately. Not to mention the uncertainty about Hanifin signing

Because it is 100% what the Flyers have been doing for years and failing. They claim they are rebuilding, get a brief fling with success, get impatient with rebuilding thinking it is the 1970s still I guess, and then sell futures for vets. Then mysteriously remain in mediocrity forever. In this league, the way to be a perennial contender is through a successful rebuild. That requires patience.

I actually don't hate the idea of adding Hanafin on top of selling assuming he extends, but this is way too much to give up

No. We are not buying. Getting a brief taste of success and jumping the gun is why the Flyers have been the best worst team in the league ever since their Cinderella finals run.

Why sell a young top 4 d-man and two picks for an expiring top 4 d-man? I can understand maybe the picks but including York is not a smart move.
