Description

Please tell me, what does this team have to lose by selling one player? LA will be desperate to add a forward if Kempe is out long term. Maybe they don't get a 1st for Toffoli, but he's got a pretty good track record in the playoffs, NJ has had a down year with tons of injuries. This move gives them a big asset and allows them to take some pressure off the team. I want to see how Holtz/Mercer/Foote perform when the playoff pressure isn't there. Take the expectations away and just play hockey. This team will contend for the next 10 seasons if they make the right moves. Use the rest of this season to evaluate some of the younger players, build/identify chemistry, and go from there. Hell, they still might make the playoffs. In the offseason, pursue Saros and hope everyone stays healthy for the 24-25 season.

There's no need to chase a wild card spot this season when you have the next decade to contend for your division.

Toffoli to LA is a good deal, but NJ wants more besides LA's first-round pick.

Toffoli has struggled this season. I don't know how much more they could get for him, but that just further proves the point i'm trying to make. No need for NJ to force it if they can get a couple high-end assets for one roster player, seems like a no brainer.

I didn't hear that but I did hear from one of the insiders that the Kings would be open to a reunion. Can't remember if it was Friedman or Seravalli.
