The only piece they will ever miss here is Kakko, but they get Vatrano for this year and next year and a veteran replacement for Chytil. Kakko clearly needs another 2-3 years to develop, but NYR's window is now.

Not really, Vatrano is better than Vesey/Wheeler/Kakko on the first line and Henrique is better than Kakko on the third. This plugs the holes, not creates them.

I'm sure CAR want Vatrano, too. If Kakko was a better fit he would've been there since day 1 Wheeler went down, but alas... : P

No need already have. Henrique is hot trash, playing top mins for a bottom feeder. Same with Vatrano, seen his show, liked it. But not 1st quality. They both will look their value when placed in playoff level games.

NYR's window has closed before, and it'll (eventually) close again, like everyone's window. Many of the current core players are 30+. We don't have time to keep this anchor in our top 6. Do we want Igor to turn into another Hank? Great, Hall of Famer, Vezina, everything but a Stanley Cup Champion... the window is literally now. Not saying NYR will be trash in 2-3 years by any means, I'm just saying, as Panarin and Co continue to age with their long contracts, you have to bring home a Cup sooner than later.

Vatrano literally had 13 points in 20 games with us in the playoffs, making your comment about "playoff value" non-sensical. So, I continue to have to tell you to watch a couple of more games...
