Contract in, contract out, Buffalo do EJ a solid and maintain a good rep with players and pick up a bonus pick and not have to retain anything. EJ knows how the Avs work, provides depth D and leadership. Figured it probably works for both teams.

Something like that
Idk that we’re interested in anything other than the pick,
but some sort of deal to send EJ back to the Avs certainly seems possible

flyers decline, they are not moving draft picks

frost also highly highly unlikely to be moved, he is one of two centers who can play at top 6 level and the other is currently broken

Considering the Flyers are still likely to be in sell mode according to most reports, Frost's name being in rumours most of the season plus, and them rumoured to having had interest in Byram when moving Cutter, I think Frost being moved is absolutely a possibility. May or may not happen, but very possible. I can understand the thinking they wouldn't be keen to move a 1st however, but if you want quality you have to pay for it. Also, if one of the two Cs is 'broken' then the wheels will likely fall off if Walker and Seeler are traded too so the Flyers would move into full sell mode.

It isn't essential but if moving EJ it's almost certainly to a contender for a cup shot and they almost certainly would have to move cap out for cap in as well as contract out for contract in.

If anything I’d say make it a 4th and you got a deal

Well even retain half of you make it the ‘25 3rd

No need for retention with this roster but I don't think it being the 4th would make or break it. The Avs are pretty rubbish at drafting outside of the top 10 anyway lol.

i get needing to give stuff up to get something, but they've been open with wanting 3 first round picks at the draft, so less than 0 chance they move a first. and as far as reports, frost seems to be staying in philly through to the summer at a minimum

their interest in byram was likely only for cutter given that he refused to sign. knowing colorado wouldn't give him up 1 for 1, i can't see them moving for him

I can't think of a single reason that a contending team would want Ranta or EJ

The first is 2025 so isn't relevant to them having 3 firsts in this years draft other than if they expect to sell Frost for one.

Ah so you'd be happy to go into the play offs with Annunen as back up and if Georgie goes down with injury have a trio of Annunen/Prosvetov/Miner to take you on what I suspect would be a very short cup run? That's why a contender would want someone like Raanta. Especially when options they can afford are limited. As for EJ I can sort of see your point but as a depth D with experience of the system he's going to and the leadership he brought that the team appears to lack to a degree without Gabe and EJ I think he has some value still.

Ranta is not an upgrade over Prosvetov. Find somebody who can stop a puck

Riiiight, keep taking the tablets, it'll all be fine. I'm not as down on Prosvetov as many but he's a young goalie who spends a lot of time scrambling and positionally unaware as well as having rebound control he needs to seriously work on. Raanta is a veteran goalie who has never had a season where he's played 20 or more games and had a losing record.
