Holtz’s value is probably a bit higher than Newhook’s, so this deal ain’t it. Allen is worthless. Harris is worth a late second max. I think adding a high second or late first or replacing Harris with Xhekaj could do it

We differ in reasoning in a couple aspects here as I believe Newhook had a bit more value when dealt because he played top 9 with the Avs and had/still has a good 200 foot game while Holtz’s entire reason for not getting minutes in NJ is his complete lack of a defensive game. Also I believe Allen half retained does hold some value, not a lot but some. With that being said I would not be opposed to adding a 2nd rounder from 2025 to get this deal done.

Holtz is bad defensively, but he is very good offensively. He is also a higher pick and I doubt New Jersey would give up on him that easily

I think this is close, in terms of value, but the 1st needs to be better. Next year’s CGY/FLA pick with protection could do it.
