Description

Eakin is a great face off guy who is very reliable in his own end and McNabb has shown good progress to log minutes. While the hawks' D-core doesn't seem to have an offensive catalyst for the power play, they're going to score regardless with the depth they have up front. Vegas gets a good 2C to add center depth.

DeBrincat is going to get his shot on Kane's line. If he doesn't pan out he goes to Rockford but I really like his chances. Every rookie the hawks brought over from Europe/college/Junior has gotten a shot in the line up. (Schmaltz, Hayden, Motte, Teravainen, Forsling)

I do not believe the trade will work out without a draft pick to go along with Artem Anisimov because Vegas already considers Cody Eakin to be a second-liner that as you said "...is a great face off guy who is very reliable in his own end...". Brayden McNabb is also in our top 2 defenseman so i believe that if this trade would work out, the Blackhawks would need to give more. Maybe a 2018 first round pick, a 2019 first round pick or a 2019 second round pick.

Yeah, you're right on the overvaluation, but i just don't see how Cody Eakin, a player who played the third most minutes on dallas in the 2016-2017 season and Brayden McNabb, who played top 4 minutes in 2015-2016 and top 6 minutes in 2016-2017 could be traded for Artem Anisimov, who played on the second line for the Blackhawks last season. Maybe it's because he is 29 which is older than the two 26 year olds, that I overvaluated, but i don't agree on how this trade helps Vegas, since they aren't a contender for at least the next two years.
