Description

Behrens is better for WAS than a late 1st this year -- he's young and ready to step in and play next year. Olausson also one of the Avs top 5-7 prospects. Caps also need some warm bodies to finish this year -- Kivi & Olafsson have been adequate 4th liners.

Only having seen highlights of Gulyayev and reading about him, it sounds like he and Behrens are somewhat similar players, with Behrens a little stouter on D and Gulyayev with more offensive creativity & upside. The reason I say Behrens not Gulyayev is that the Avs need to sign Behrens soon or kick him out, and they really have nowhere to put him, while in 3 years, when Gulyayev is done with the KHL, he can slot into Girard's spot. I think Behrens will be a great 2nd pair guy, but like Byram, too many people are ahead of him in the depth chart.
