In a small dose, it could be a great strategy but not in the long term. If you need an injection of puck moving and offense for a shift then I am all for it. You can do an all in line of Tavares, Matthews, Nylander with Reilly and Marner on defence for a shift. That I would be fine with the odd time. But overall Marner is better on the wing and this further exemplifies why we need a top 3 defenseman preferably right handed. I okay okay with our trades because the only real top 3 D available was Hanifin. Hanifin reportedly refused to resign with any team asking for a trade. He seems to want to want and see his options.
