Foegele is scoring more at 5v5 than Buchnevich this year, so this trade doesn't improve the roster as much as you seem to think based on the other pieces you gave up.

Foegele's most common center is McLeod. When he does play with Draisaitl they're very good together - Draisaitl's on-ice GF is double with Foegele than without. Both Draisaitl and Foegele have 13 points when playing together (less than half of Foegele's total), so Foegele is full value on that line.

I doubt Buchnevich would fare better. He has fewer shots, fewer scoring chances, fewer high danger chances, fewer hits, fewer takeaways and fewer shots blocked despite playing 100 more minutes than Foegele.

Are you implying that opponents don't play their top defensive lines against McDavid, that they save those precious minutes for the ****ing subway guy?
