Description

Does Carolina match if they want to re-sign Guentzel to an $8mil contract?

Also, this team is going to be very young and inexperienced. Gonna be interesting to see what GMBM cooks up

Also have no idea what Oshie’s status could be. Last year of his contract. He’s a competitor and a great energy guy, but he’ll play at most 3/4 of the season

I don’t think Carolina is gonna re-sign Guentzel. I think he’s a rental for them. Pretty sure they’ll match that Jarvis offer.

Also, Guentzel is gonna make 10M +

I think unfortunately CAR will match and I see zero scenario in which they go into the season with 14m in cap space. It really will be closer to 7m (Oshie not LTIRetired yet and Pacioretty 2m bonuses) but with that money I would expect a pretty big UFA defenseman (Hanifin, Skjei, Pesce).

Yeah wasn’t sure what his status was. Everyone kept saying how Carolina doesn’t like rentals so it made me believe they would like to re-sign

$10mil kinda crazy, I was expecting 9.5mil. 8mil is the starting price for sure
