Getting away with what? Following the rules and having a better GM and owner than most teams?

oh don't you worry this summer Bettman and the other GMs are going change the rules, just like Bettman changed the rules after the phony long term contracts were being abused by GM's adding extra seasons at low cost (which team and player weren't going to honor anyway) just to get a low salary cap hit for the star players.

Besides no GM really has the guts to do anything about it. During the 15 summer then TB Lightning GM and alternate Governor Steve Yzerman proposed requiring a team fit under the cap during the playoffs. You know how many teams agreed? One the St.Louis Blues.

An alternative rule should be the same as preseason, you can be 10% over the cap max. Maybe for the playoffs you can only be a certain % # over.

Obviously 10% is too high because that'll $8+ million.

Maybe take the average Nhl player cap hit % and use that as the overage, so that'd mean teams can only hide an average player on LTIR during the regular season and activate him for the playoffs. So if your superstar player is injured, he can't hid him on LTIR and replace him with another superstar, so you can have 2 superstars players for the price of 1 in the playoffs.

Which is exactly has been happening.

Don't hold your breathe. Exactly what happened in 25 will happen again 1 or 2 GMs will complain and then nothing.
Just got one question. Where did you get your medical degree? Sorry follow up and have you examined any of these patients?

Injured and unfit to play for game 82, 3 days later healthy and cleared to play game 1 of the playoffs.

Where did these team doctors get their degree....or wait I answered my own question, TEAM doctors.

Everyone has admitted these LTIR are funny business.

It sure is a funny business, why should the hockey world be any different than the real world.

If I get hurt at work, I can go see a doctor and get him to signed me off from working for as long as I want and my employer can't say boo about it, hurrah for Unions.
