Real attemp to move Brouwer

Created by: flamesfan419
Team: 2017-18 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 19, 2017
Published: Jul. 19, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Naturally I doubt COL would say YES to this deal, but if they really want to move Duchene they have to accept something. SO maybe this move doesn't happen during the summer, perhaps it happens in-season? Or not at all who knows.

-------

As for the Brouwer move, ARI really only has 2 guys with any veteran experience (Stepan, McGinn) so it might appeal to them to take another guy to mentor all the youth they have.
Can't see Stepan being too happy having to carry the team alone considering they'll be losing far more than they win.
So it is just a thought move at this point.

Nice. Calgary gives up a bunch of minor league players and an over paid vet for 2 high end players. I have my doubts. Need to give to get my friend.

These deals are both super favorable to CGY.

COL has offers on the table that are much more than what you've got above, and Sakic hasn't said 'yes' to those. Realistically, it won't be worth it for CGY to try to win that sweepstakes.

I think you're signifcantly under-valuing Max Domi, and misunderstanding how much ARI values him. He's a sure Top 6 player long-term, with potential to be a pretty potent top line guy. Hathaway is a 5th liner who can fill in on the 4th line if absolutely necessary, but that's pretty much his ceiling. And Brouwer is a well-known commodity at this point: minimal interest around the league. Chayka, an analytics-first GM, is never going near this type of deal, especially for one of his best young prospects (who is already successful at the NHL level).
