Don't think Ottawa trades Brady without a sure fire elite piece coming back and I know Cowan is a good prospect, still don't think he's the level Ottawa would be looking for though.

We got a 1st for taking Monahan's contract that was likely half of Tavares's. It would at least take a first to habs for them to think about it!

I like a lot of this...certainly the blueprint looks more like a playoff team...
-Tkachuck trade would bring a few assets back or that is way an overpay...but in any case that 1st line would be fun to watch.
-Niemala??? I don't think he is an NHLer and that spot can be filled quite cheaply with someone with NHL experience.
-I don't get how everyone says guys won't waive their NMCs, why wouldn't they? In Tavares's case though his value would be highest if Leafs retained 50% and just replace him with say Domi like you have...that would bring something back....maybe Buffalo or Detroit but ya I doubt Montreal.

Interesting for Montreal. Tavares is overpaid big time but he could fill in that top 6 role and teach guys like Dach and Newhook. Since we have ton of cap space, I would probably do it
