Description

I think at this point the Leafs should see if this second line works. If it does (which in theory it should, those players are a good mix and have shown chemistry together before). Then the only remaining questions is the 3C. Kampf was good between those two in Montreal and made the line capable of starting 70% of the D zone draws which clears up the top two lines to play in the O-Zone. Dewar/Holmberg could also be considered for the 3C spot.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Nylander and Marner being on the same line. Both guys need the puck on their stick, especially Nylander. I think switching Willy and Bobby could be a good idea.

Yea I see that. Kampf shouldn't be the center tho. Maybe with Holmberg and Knies that would work.

Just because Domi has a good game doesn't bump Marner off the topline when he comes back.

It's not about Domi, its about spreading the talent throughout the lineup. If Matthews has chemistry with Domi + Bert then it makes the Leafs 10x stronger to have Nylander/Tavares/Marner as a potential second line or to be able to drop one of those guys to the third line. Suddenly the matchup game becomes nearly impossible especially for a team like Boston who is weak upfront.
