I didn't think 1 could make the Blues D worse but I think you did...

If Dallas wants Faulk, they can pay full cap hit or pony up something better than Dellandrea and a 3rd. If the Wild want Leddy, they can pay for him. We're not going to be subsidizing rivals like this.

Roy for Faulk and Leddy substituted for anybody is a large upgrade

Leddy was gruesome last season, but he has been a solid B performer this season. Probably better than Brodie, if only because cohesion.

Leddy has been good this year - don’t get the hate. You think he’s bad - having TJ Brodie’s corpse replace him would go swimmingly….

He’s a sieve held up by Colton Parayko and the Blues goaltending. He cannot be playing the minutes he does if the Blues have any serious ambitions. I’m open to someone besides Brodie though, I picked him because I didn’t want to spend big and I feel like he could be fineish.

I’m all for finding a better partner for Parayko but Leddy is fine. He’s much better than Krug. And he’s definitely better than Brodie at this point in their careers.

Yeah, no one was harsher on Leddy last season than me, but he has been legit decent this season. I have to give him credit when it's due. He's been 100% plugged in, smarter with the puck and playing more physically than I ever remember him playing - even when he was with the sCHIumbags.

He is one of the softest players I’ve ever seen in front of the net, does not break up plays in transition or on the cycle, and his main skill of skating the puck through the NZ never leads to any sort of offense. He’s a number 6 on a functioning squad.

Would have agreed with all of that last season. Not this season. He plays like the 5th hardest minutes in the entire league, no PP time and 40% D zone starts. He has more 5v5 points this season than: Petro, Carlson, Nurse, Gustafsson, Chych, Burns, Roy, Durzi, Sanderson, Lindholm, Matheson, Chabot, Jones, Walman, Severson, Ekblad, Montour, etc etc etc. And most of those guys play 2nd pairing. He's also tied for 31st in primary 5v5 assists. Leddy has also already surpassed his career high in blocks and might also reach his takeaways career best.

I totally understand it, but I think you're holding a grudge there, buddy.

All of those numbers are because he inexplicably plays insane minutes for this team. Defensive counting stats are virtually useless.

Ehh what? You might have some form of a point if he didn't 1) almost play the same 5v5 minutes as last season, with the main difference being this season's minutes are significantly harder & 2) his rates in these categories weren't up from last season, many of them by a large margin. For instance, his blocks are up like 40% over last season.

Leddy is well down the list of our problems this season. The only real problem D pairing we've had this season has been the 2nd, Krug/Faulk and Krug/Kessel. Most of our problem isn't actually "the D" like people mean it - it's poor puck management in the worst possible places, most of which has been the fault of forwards and that 2nd pairing.
