      The idea is that he signs with Montreal and then Oilers need Offensive D at deadline. People paid ridiculous prices for rentals last year. It's not going to happen, it's just an idea. Just like Chicago isn't going to give up DeBrincat for Pleks and Byron. But they have a history of deadline deals. You didn't even make it that far, because you perceived that something bad was happening to EDM.

      We have a offensive d man in klefbom and benning is coming out his way I wouldn't give up a first AND a second for markov. Montreal will make the playoffs this year btw

      Ok, it was a hypothetical situation where they miss the playoffs, due to Price injury. Read the description next time. Not everything here is reality. It's a "what if" genius.

      If markov was worth a 1st and 2nd somebody would've signed him already. He is probably worth a 2nd, maybe a 1st depending on a teams need and the market. Even if price is hurt I don't expect montreal to miss the playoffs, price had a stretch last season for about a month where he was the worst goalie in the NHL. The habs have Lindgren in the minors and I don't think missing the playoffs is an option for bergevin. He would trade for a goaltender before letting this team miss playoffs again... the pressure from the fans is getting more and more absurd.

      Also, moving forward, the team would be completely screwed with that tavares contract. They need to resign lehkonen and pacioretty... then galchenyuk, debrincat, hudon... etc. I doubt danault would sign that cheap as well looking to be more in the range of 3.5 mil.
