I am a Mtl fan and I would go for it. It is expensive since we would lose 2 first round picks (Juulsen/Scherbak) and giving another 1st and 2nd picks on top if it. But we would get Tatar who can play RW on the 1st line and a 2nd line centre we definitely need at present time.

As a Habs fan I think that is too much young assets, plus have to pay Nielsen another 5 years

Nielsen > Plekanec and the Nielsen contract is good for a couple more years for a 2C. After that it might not be too good, but the time to win in MTL is right now and they can worry about the Nielsen contract in a couple years. MTL has never really given Scherbak a chance so you're not really losing much there. The first rd pick will probably be low since MTL will most likely go pretty far into the playoffs with this roster. I think this move just makes a lot of sense for both teams.
