Description

Again. Like everyone else. I would love to keep Bertuzzi and Domi. If a realistic deal can be made then make it, but they will need to spread out there cap space. The younger forwards have had lots of ups and downs, but that's part of trying to develop them for more opportunity next season. I think DeMelo is a good UFA target as well as Roy and Montour. The problem will be getting one of them at around 5 million. I haven't investigated a realistic trade option for the type of defenseman we are looking for because I think the UFA option is the best bet at the moment. Robertson is the only RFA with no arbitration rights so they should be able to sign him to a low cap deal. I like the interest in Hakanpaa but Lyubushkin looks like he wants to stay.

I love the idea of Demelo and I think he's much closer to 4 million than 5.
Edmundson is a walk unless he's under 2. He's been great short term so far, but I worry that his defensive game could struggle long term.
Robertson has had every chance, I surely believe he's moved this off-season.
I like the idea of keeping the same group but as evidence of this year, it isn't going to work. I would take the extra $$ not used by Domi or Bert and look to bring in two studs on defence such as Demelo like you have and someone else

Their biggest need other than RD is 2C, and Tavares-Holmberg-Kampf as the center core doesn't inspire much confidence
