Description

The way I see it, it's impossible to acquire a legit 1C this offseason. So the best possible option is to fill out the roster with insane depth. Geekie and Heinen are both too good for the 4th line, and both of them and Frederic and Poitras realistically could rotate in and out of PK/PP. All 3 scratches are NHL players. But this makes us very well-insulated against injuries, as there is always someone ready to move up the lineup. We also still have enough cap space leftover to take a risk on a bad contract that only has 1 season left, in Reilly Smith. I think this would make for a very competitive team (certainly even more so than this year's iteration of the Bruins) while we wait for the opportunity to draft/develop/trade for/sign a 1C.
