You forgot about the cap jumping perhaps 3 500 000 next year. That's probably 400 000 extra per player.

Also some of these players could probably go for minimum salary. I appreciate what you're trying to do here, but it could be better.

I honestly think that this summer's 1st Rd pick for the Caps should be in play for a trade to acquire a young star player.

The Caps can't go full rebuild and stick Ovie with a bunch rookies. But they can't continue playing the playoff pretender role and be unprepared for Ovie's retirement.

It would be nice to get a Young Star but I can't see anyone giving up a young star besides maybe Holtz for a pick
