Unbelievably horrible for NJ Top line 30-40 goal power forward 1st line Selke candidate center and maybe one of the best prospects in hockey for Caulfield+Hutson(who is also a top 5 d prospect) and a bunch of maybes not worth it for NJ unless that pick is 1st overall

To me, it makes the Devils weak at center, and overall it sets them back in their development as a group, and Fitzgerald seems to want to win now. Hischier is their captain and already entering elite territory as a two-way center. They will also target a more "surefire" goaltender than Primeau for the same reason. (I think they'd be fine, maybe even better off, playing the mid-range game, compete for real the year after next, figure out which holes to fill and with what over the 2024-25 season. Get it right. Let guys grow, but Fitz disagrees).

That 1st rounder will be between 5th and 9th, most likely 5th, 6th, or 7th. That means one of those defencemen in Carter Yakemchuk, Sam Dickinson, Anton Silayev, Zeev Buium, Zayne Parekh, or forwards Berkly Catton or Cayden Lindstrom.. not bad players based on the scouting reports, but still sets the team back a bit, time-wise, in their pursuit of glory.

I agree Meier is the only one out of the devils core of Hischier Luke Jack Nemec Bratt and himself who is over 25 half of them are 22 or younger no need to shake anything up for at least a few years

Keep in mind the devils get smaller by add caufield and hutson. Like why do ppl love being under sized. Like ppl said Devils need to get bigger and all playoffs they were undersized. i guess speed is the only thing that matter too ppl
